I’ve seen it far too many times. An adult sits in my office telling me why their life isn’t working. Whether it be in the marriage, their sin issues, or their lack of experiencing God’s blessing, there’s always an excuse as to why it’s not working for them.

I tell people, you have to slay the dragon if you want the gold. In many stories of folklore, the hero enters the lair of the dragon to retrieve the gold. This is an archetype for the kind of people we can be. But we must slay the dragon.

What is your dragon? Is it giving in to culture? Is it laziness, confusion, or pain from the past? We all have things keeping us from ruling and reigning in life, but we can overcome and live a life filled with meaning and purpose.
