A Testimony of Recovery from Addiction by Grace

Chris and Shea are heroes. They are heroes because they have allowed God to transform them. For most of their lives they were selfish and unproductive but since hearing the Gospel, they have chosen life. This is what grace does, it works in a human heart to bring about honest and lasting change.

Grace is not to be confused as mercy or just God's favor, it is a power flowing from God into a believers heart for the purpose of wholeness. Grace is a power! Grace is a vital spiritual life force that teaches godliness and empowers righteousness. Righteousness comes by faith in the finished work of Christ but living in righteousness is empowered by grace.

Strong's Concordance defines grace this way:

χάρις cháris, khar'-ece; from G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude):—acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace(- ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thank(-s, -worthy).

Grace is favor, it is undeserved graciousness and kindness from God but effectively it is a divine influence upon the heart. God extends grace with the hand of undeserved favor but it's effect is an influence in our hearts. Because God favors us and desires to display his kindness toward us, he influences us in our inner man (heart).

Why the heart? Because the heart affects every of life and is to be guarded above all else. You live from the beliefs of your heart. Grace is an active, empowering stream of influence form the presence of God to bring about the reflection of his glory.

Chris and Shea's testimony is a shining example of what happens in a human heart and life when turned to God's influence. Watch this inspiring testimony and rejoice with them as they move forward in the ministry God has placed on their hearts.
