There is New Life available in God’s Spirit

Romans 7:4 Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5 For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.

  1. Yield to God as an Instrument of Righteousness

  2. Your Soul Thirsts for Righteousness

  3. Jesus Went Through Hell

  4. Circumcision of the Heart

  5. Live in Your New Life

We’re not longing for righteousness, it’s ours now. We’re not dehydrated needing God to give us righteousness, we can drink of it now and never thirst again. We’re at a place where we get to enjoy the fruit of righteousness.

It’s satisfying when you can live in the power of grace and properly steward your righteousness. It’s rewarding to live well and not give into sin, or not even be swayed by temptation. It’s nourishment to the soul to encounter the opportunity to be tempted yet recognize it for what it is and what it will produce in your life.

It’s incredibly satisfying to see it coming and choose grace ahead of time and walk away

We are to live in the newness of the spirit, but how? It is possible because Jesus died for us, and in him we died to sin and the law. But how do we walk in that victory? Through mind renewal.

The Good news that you are no longer obligated to God through law is good enough news to your heart that you’ll naturally obey him by faith. But no one has been able to do so, so something needed to change. God decided to perform a surgery, and make you a new kind of creature. He decided to cut out of you your diseased nature. He didn’t just cut out the disease, he replaced it with new living tissue, with eternal life flowing through it.

Your body still remembers what it’s like to be dead and enslaved to sin but if you can renew your mind to the new work that God has done in you, you will actually be a slave to righteousness, and obey God by faith from the heart. You can live under grace, in the power of righteousness!!
