“Repent” is the Greek word metanoeō. Metanoeō means; to change one's mind, to turn one’s mind for the better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins. Repentance does have to do with turning away from sin but more specifically it is about changing your mind about the beliefs that drive sin. This is what Jesus addresses when he steps into his public ministry.

“The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!” Mark 1:15

I believe Jesus was saying to the world, “you’re going to have to change the way you think about everything because I am the beginning of the increase of God’s kingdom in the earth.”

We know the Gospel means GOOD NEWS!! This is what Jesus was announcing, good news about God and man. Good news about the messiah and what he was about to do. Good news about God’s kingdom. And good news about the future.

IN THIS SERIES I cover the fundamental doctrines of the Gospel and God’s New Covenant. I also go into great detail of Christ finished work in you, specifically your deliverance from the Law and your new creation identity. I love to teach on the circumcision of the body of the flesh from Colossians 2. I believe this to be one of the most important truths we can understand as Christians, yet it is largely misunderstood in Christianity. I feel my messages on this topic in this series are some of the clearest I’ve ever given.

I pray this series is a blessing to you. I pray it grounds you in the Gospel and equips you to communicate the Gospel to your friends and family. You probably know most of these truths, but the people in your life do not. It’s up to you. Give them the gift of the Gospel. Know it, appreciate it, love it but also communicate it.
